AYSO Referees

  • Cross-certification is available to referees of AYSO and U.S. Soccer who have been certified as referees for six months or more and who are not certified with both organizations. All games officiated for AYSO or U.S. Soccer may be applied toward the certification requirements of either AYSO or U.S. Soccer.
  • This is only for referees that have never been a referee within U.S. Soccer. Cross-certification is a one-time thing. Once you certify with U.S. Soccer, you will have to maintain the annual renewal requirements with USSF to keep your current grade.
  • AYSO Referees must be an Intermediate Referee or higher to cross-certify.
  • Submit the cross-certification document to refereeregistration@calsouth.com.

USSF Referees

  • USSF Referee Registration Fee cost of $55. Register & pay by clicking here
  • Take the Online Grassroots Referee Course through US Soccer’s Learning Center by clicking here
  • Register to attend an In-Person Field Training – please click here for local listings
  • Introduction to Safe & Healthy Playing Environments online course here

For Applicants 18 years of age and older, please complete the following items:

  • SafeSport Training – This can be completed through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center here
  • Fingerprint clearance needed – To complete this, you will need to download a LiveScan form and instructions here
