Our Association is made up of approximately 150 USSF certified referees living in and around the southwest portion of Los Angeles County, California. SSBRA provided referee crews for over 2000 matches in 2014 and the 2015 schedules show that we will be refereeing even more in 2015.  SSBRA provided referees for youth matches for the Southern California Development Soccer League (DSL) and the Coast Soccer League (CSL) leagues, all of the matches played by the Los Angeles J-League (an amateur men’s league), a number of South Bay Peninsula Soccer League (SBPSL) matches, all Manhattan Beach 7v7, all Beverly Hills 7v7 matches, all City of Lawndale youth matches, DirectKix Sports Productions 6v6 matches at Fairfax High School, CSL Spring League matches, DSL Spring League matches, State Cup and National Cup matches organized by CYSA-S, and numerous tournaments and “friendly” matches which were held throughout Southern California.

We meet regularly in a collegial setting to discuss soccer refereeing, receive training, and to conduct the business of the organization.  Our meetings often feature guest speakers including past and present FIFA referees and Cal South monthly training.

In 2016 SSBRA is continuing to host the Cal South led Referee Professional Development (RPD) classes at North High School in Torrance.  This provides our members the advantage of a RPD training class in a convenient South Bay location.  SSBRA has been hosting RPDs since 2014 and is the only Referee Association teaming with Cal South by hosting RPDs.

You can read our current Association newsletter the “Flag and Whistle”.   We are proud of the services we provide to our community.  In addition to paid services, our membership supports the community with volunteer work.

Thank you for visiting. We hope you come back again soon, and if there is something more you would like to see on this site, please send our President an email.
